I am eager to see where you go next. I'm glad you are giving yourself permission to write about whatever excited you without worrying about whether it's what's "expected". Without limiting yourself, we'll all just get more of your thoughts - always a good thing!
Ramblings coming from 83 year old Methodist of Weslean ilk. The computer entered as a tool (think hammer). We solved problems with it, standardized process’s and simplified work. Now it is life, isolation and addiction. I can’t imagine how hard your ministry is. John Wesley realized he couldn’t do what God wanted him to do delivering sermons from a raised pulpit in an Anglican Church. He went outside, preached and didn’t pass the offering plate. Be like missionaries who go where we dare not go but comes back occasionally, tells us the exciting things the Lord is doing so to encourage us to continue to support you — and, and share your heart with your subscribers. Then, through the magic of your digital world, let us pray together. Let us hold you up together and individually. May the Lord lift you up. May the Lord’s face shine upon you and give you His peace and strength and courage and wisdom.
It's way too easy to fall into the "what will work well for the algorithm" trap? I find myself stumbling here consciously and unconsciously with my shortform running videos. Make a video about celebrating and centering LGBTQ+ people? Bring on the rage bait! Not to say message like that aren't needed but always good to know my motivation. WHY am I doing it? And most importantly, I want to think about real people, not an ambiguous algorithm. Yeah, there's a nice dopamine rush when something hits new numbers, but helping one person is always "good enough" and "good enough" is always the goal.
(And really, I'm with you on giving permission to just write and explore what I want to write and explore. Authenticity more than projected polish.)
It's such a complex topic. But I know that if I'm not finding joy in the work, then I'll burn out, and no one benefits from that. So I'm trying to re-center.

Thank you! This helps me take another step towards giving myself that permission.
I'm so glad! I shared the Iben movie in Jim’s last Digital ministry summit day - thank you for speaking about it!

I'm not big at all, dreaming so start making an income through the creative and renounce my corporate shackles.
Yet, that would be my prerogative too... not to limit access to my work to any, especially to those created to help (like my gamer dad reviews).
It might be a naive view... but, hope the best to you, to grow and continue to build up, as per God's calling. GB
